Dear church family,

Communion/Lord’s Supper This weekend we’ll celebrate the Lord’s Supper (or Communion) together.  This is the gift of the Gospel made visible for us.  He invites us to take and remember and believe that just as we take this bread and wine by eating, it is by trusting Christ that we take his actual body and blood This means that what He did and who He is - what happened to Him - counts for those who believe.  Christ has given this gift to his church to enjoy for the last 2000 years, and He intends to use it to create and strengthen faith in Him.  It is one of the ways that he holds the church - so that she would be found waiting for him when He returns - or when God calls each one home when their earthly lives are over.  If you’re taking children to church this Sunday, it would be important to prepare their little hearts the day before.  Tell them what this means - explain God’s promise to use this to build up their trust in Jesus - and it is trust in Jesus that unites us to Jesus and all he’s done.   It is also TAC’s wonderful tradition that on weeks when we celebrate Communion, we take up an additional special offering dedicated solely to meeting the needs of those in our church and community as a way of demonstrating God’s rich mercy and love and generosity toward us.  This is called our “Care Fund” - and it is used to provide food, rent, solid counseling services, among other things.  Please consider coming prepared to give toward this fund as well as TAC’s regular gospel ministries.   Annual Congregational Meeting At 6:30 PM this Sunday, we’ll be meeting as a congregation to go over some very important business.  We will first begin with a time of worship with music, and we will end with a time of prayer for our church and for Transcona and for God’s mission across the globe.  We need to do the business of approving the audited budget and proposed

Annual Congregational Meeting At 6:30 PM this Sunday, we’ll be meeting as a congregation to go over some very important business.  We will first begin with a time of worship with music, and we will end with a time of prayer for our church and for Transcona and for God’s mission across the globe.  We need to do the business of approving the audited budget and proposed budget that was presented in June.  We’ll also have an update from our building committee regarding both of our properties - Kildare and Ravenhurst.  Joining us for these meetings is an important part of membership, but those who are not members ‘officially’ are still welcome to join us - as you are part of our church family.

Disciple Makers Month This Friday evening we begin our 4-week discipleship training.  This is not to train you as a disciple, but to help you to be as disciple-maker.  We’ll work through what it means to disciple someone, and what you’d do with an individual if you were to help them to know and trust and follow the Lord.  We’re thrilled that Child Evangelism Fellowship is partnering with TAC to lead a children’s program as the adults of TAC learn together.  We will have an area set up in the back for parents to be with really little ones while they crawl around and play, and a couple of individuals will also be available to hold and care for little ones as well.  Please sign up for this at the info table or by emailing so that we can have some idea of how many to prepare for. A disciple is a person who has received Jesus’ record and identity as a free gift, and who is transformed into and walks in that identity by the Holy Spirit’s power.  A disciple endures in faith to the end.  Jesus’ identity is righteous - and the beloved Son of God.  These are ours if we trust in Jesus.   Let’s pray that we would be disciples and that we would make many disciples for the glory of God and the joy of His people

Your brother,   Derek
