The wisdom that guides us will have a profound impact on our families. What we love most and fear most will be what we most love and fear for our children. Our children must fear God’s judgment more than anything, and love Christ’s rescue and gift of fellowship more than anything – this is Christ as the wisdom of God. The family is God’s given place for children to learn this wisdom. Through their own example, through teaching and discipline, parents can train their children up in the truth of Jesus. However, there is still a choice of every child to obey their parents, to choose to trust Jesus, and to delight in Him more than anything that human wisdom holds up as worthy.
