  1. The harvests in Israel were actually connected to the promises of God. Why is it important to know the difference between the promises which God has actually made and requests which He invites us to ask of Him but that He hasn't promised?
  2. Whether Elimilech had a choice or not, why was it a terrible thing to be apart from the people of the household of God?
  3. What lasting impact does that have our love for the church and for our choice of a husband or wife?
  4. How was the family name and inheritance in the land of rest evidence that God's blessings would not be robbed by death?
  5. How did Christ ensure that sinners whom the Father gave to Him would be brought into the household of God and rescued from death's power to end their joy?
  6. What would it look like for you to be faithful in your calling to help your church family enjoy the affections of God in Christ?
  7. Can you recall a time when facing suffering as a child of God was particularly hard?
  8. Can you recall a time when you were able to truly grieve and yet not lose the hope and comfort of the Fatherhood of God which Christ paid for with His blood? What was helpful at that time?
