  3.  An Encouragement: We are not those who shrink back

  • What is our relationship with God if we don’t trust in Jesus?

  • What do God’s enemies receive? 

  • What does the author of Hebrews tell us to do to make sure that we don't lose confidence in the gospel?
  • How are Christians still being saved even after they “get saved” by trusting in Jesus?

  • What do we receive when we endure in our faith?

Deeper Discussion:

  • What does it mean to “go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth?

  • What are some of the different “roads” to apostasy? What are some of the ways these roads intertwine?

  • What are the problems with contrasting God’s character in the Old and New Testaments? What response would Scripture give to this accusation?

  • Are we definitely saved if we have made a confession or prayer to “accept” or believe in Jesus? What else might be necessary?
