John 10:22-31

When the religious leaders accuse Jesus of being unclear Jesus reminds them that He's spoken and shown in great detail about His mission as the long-awaited Saviour. It's not that it hasn't been made clear, its that they don't have ears to hear the truth. They don't want this kind of Saviour. They are like sheep who won't respond to the voice of a shepherd, so they are obviously not the sheep of the shepherd - they don't belong to the long-awaited Saviour. But if they were His sheep, if they did trust in Him and follow Him, He would hold them forever. All who do trust in Him are given to Him by God the Father, and since Jesus and the Father are one, His sheep are held forever by both the Son and the Father. Nothing is great enough to separate us from God's grip. The leaders ask if He's the Saviour - Jesus responds by indicating that not only is He the Saviour, He is God.
