Jesus is the True and Greater Exodus

With the feeding of the 5,000, God Himself bears witness that Jesus is the True and Greater Exodus. Like the rescue God provided His people thousands of years earlier, Jesus would bring freedom from slavery and a new life in a new kingdom. However, rescue Jesus provides us from something greater than Egypt, He rescues from slavery to sin, and from the judgment for our sin. He wouldn't win this rescue by avoiding suffering and taking the kingdom by force. Instead, He would win this rescue by His own suffering, and through being crushed before being raised from the dead.
